Advanced Employment is currently seeking a dependable, hardworking, and mechanically inclined individual for a Saw Operator / Fabrication Yard position with a well-established local steel fabrication company.
This is a hands-on position working in a fast-paced fabrication and steel yard environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working both indoors and outdoors while handling steel materials, operating equipment, reading blueprints, and assisting with fabrication and production operations.
Candidates must be reliable, safety-conscious, able to read a tape measure accurately, and comfortable working around heavy materials and industrial equipment.

Experience in steel fabrication, construction, manufacturing, or equipment operation is highly valued, but attitude, reliability, and willingness to work are equally important.
Job Duties
– Operate both automated and manual saw equipment used in steel fabrication
– Move steel and materials throughout the yard and fabrication shop
– Operate forklifts and telehandlers safely and efficiently
– Utilize handheld inkjet printers and labeling equipment
– Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, spreadsheets, and production documents
– Measure and cut materials accurately according to specifications
– Assist with organizing and staging steel products for fabrication and production
– Load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility
– Work closely with fabrication and production teams to maintain workflow efficiency
– Maintain a clean and organized work environment
– Follow all safety procedures and company policies at all times
– Assist with additional shop or yard duties as needed
Job Requirements
– Previous experience in fabrication, manufacturing, construction, steel work, warehouse, or industrial environments preferred
– Ability to accurately read a tape measure REQUIRED
– Blueprint reading experience preferred
– Experience operating forklifts, telehandlers, or heavy equipment preferred
– Comfortable working with steel and heavy materials
– Strong attention to detail and accuracy
– Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn equipment and shop processes quickly
– Dependable with strong attendance and work ethic
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Must be able to lift, move, and work with heavy materials throughout the day
– Ability to work in a physically demanding environment
Requirements
