Advanced Employment is currently seeking an experienced Welder / Fabricator for a well-established steel fabrication company in the Billings area. This is a hands-on position working in a fast-paced fabrication environment involving structural steel, custom fabrication, industrial projects, and heavy materials.
The ideal candidate will have strong welding and fabrication experience, the ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings, and experience working with a variety of shop tools and industrial equipment. Job Duties
– Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or Flux-Core welding depending on project requirements
– Fabricate steel and metal components according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications
– Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, weld symbols, and measurements accurately
– Cut, fit, align, tack, and assemble fabricated materials
– Operate fabrication equipment including grinders, torches, saws, drills, presses, and other shop machinery
– Assist with layout and material preparation for fabrication projects
– Inspect welds and fabricated products to ensure quality and accuracy
– Work with structural steel, pipe, custom metal components, and fabricated assemblies
– Maintain clean and organized work areas
– Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA regulations
– Collaborate with shop personnel and supervisors to complete projects on schedule
– Assist with loading, moving, and staging materials throughout the shop as needed
Job Requirements
– Previous welding and fabrication experience REQUIRED
– Strong blueprint reading and measuring skills REQUIRED
– Ability to accurately read a tape measure REQUIRED
– Experience working in fabrication shops, industrial environments, or construction settings preferred
– Knowledge of welding techniques, materials, and fabrication processes
– Strong attention to detail and workmanship
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
– Ability to lift and work with heavy steel materials throughout the day
– Mechanically inclined with problem-solving abilities
Preferred Experience
– Structural steel fabrication
– Industrial welding
– Custom fabrication work
– Pipe welding experience
– Shop fabrication experience
– Heavy equipment or construction background
Requirements
– Valid driver’s license REQUIRED
– Reliable transportation REQUIRED
– Ability to pass pre-employment screening
– Welding test may be required depending on experience level
