Advanced Employment Services is seeking an experienced CDL Sign Installation Technician to join a professional sign installation team specializing in commercial signage throughout Montana and the surrounding region. This position is ideal for someone with experience in commercial construction, electrical work, and sign installation who enjoys working outdoors, operating specialized equipment, and completing projects that require precision and craftsmanship.
The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing a wide variety of commercial signs, including illuminated signs, monument signs, pylon signs, channel letters, LED signs, and other custom signage. This position requires a combination of construction skills, electrical knowledge, and the ability to safely operate CDL vehicles and aerial equipment. The company provides complete sign services, including design, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and removal.

Job Duties
Sign Installation
– Install a variety of commercial signage, including:
– Channel letter signs
– Monument signs
– Pylon and high-rise signs
– LED and illuminated signs
– Cabinet signs
– Wall-mounted signs
– Directional and wayfinding signs
– Vinyl graphics and exterior signage
– Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, electrical diagrams, and installation specifications.
– Measure, level, and accurately position signage prior to installation.
– Install raceways, brackets, support structures, anchors, and mounting hardware.
– Assemble sign components in the field.
– Remove and replace existing signage when necessary.
– Complete projects while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer satisfaction.
Electrical Responsibilities
– Install and connect electrical components for illuminated signs.
– Wire LED lighting systems, power supplies, transformers, and sign lighting.
– Troubleshoot electrical issues affecting sign operation.
– Replace LED modules, ballasts, drivers, wiring, and electrical components.
– Test electrical systems to verify proper operation.
– Follow all applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
Construction Responsibilities
– Perform concrete work for sign foundations when required.
– Install anchor bolts and structural supports.
– Operate drills, core drills, concrete saws, and demolition equipment.
– Perform minor welding, fabrication, and structural modifications as needed.
– Safely use ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and fall protection equipment.
– Assist with excavation and site preparation for new sign installations.
Equipment Operation
– Safely operate:
– CDL trucks
– Bucket trucks
– Crane trucks
– Boom lifts
– Scissor lifts
– Forklifts
– Telehandlers
– Utility trailers
– Hand and power tools
– Electrical testing equipment
– Perform daily inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure safe operation.
General Responsibilities
– Travel to commercial job sites throughout Montana and surrounding areas as needed.
– Load, unload, and transport signs and installation materials.
– Maintain clean and organized work vehicles.
– Complete service reports and installation documentation.
– Communicate professionally with customers and project managers.
– Follow OSHA regulations and all company safety procedures.
– Participate in emergency sign repairs and maintenance when necessary.
Job Requirements
– Previous commercial sign installation experience required.
– Commercial construction experience required.
– Electrical experience required.
– Experience installing illuminated and non-illuminated signage strongly preferred.
– Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and construction drawings.
– Experience operating aerial lifts, bucket trucks, and cranes is highly desirable.
– Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
– Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

– Valid CDL (required).
– Valid driver’s license with an insurable driving record (required).

– Ability to work overtime as needed.
Physical Requirements
– This is a physically demanding position requiring the ability to:
– Lift 75 pounds or more regularly.
– Work at heights using bucket trucks, aerial lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.
– Stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
– Perform repetitive lifting, carrying, drilling, fastening, and overhead work.
– Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
– Safely perform physically demanding work while using appropriate fall protection and PPE.
