We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a busy welding and fabrication shop. This position is responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes to produce accurate, high-quality parts and components.
The ideal candidate has hands-on machining experience, is comfortable reading blueprints and technical drawings, and understands how to take a part from print to finished product while maintaining tight tolerances.

Candidates with strong CNC setup experience, proficiency with both mills and lathes, and the ability to work independently will be considered toward the higher end of the pay range.

Job Duties

– Set up and operate CNC mills and CNC lathes.
– Machine parts and components according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
– Perform machine setups, including tooling, fixtures, offsets, and workholding.
– Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and machining specifications.
– Use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
– Monitor machining operations and make adjustments to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances.
– Inspect completed parts for accuracy, quality, and conformance to specifications.
– Change tooling and make necessary offset adjustments.
– Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and quality issues.
– Work with a variety of metals and fabricated components.
– Coordinate with welders, fabricators, and other shop personnel to complete projects.
– Perform routine machine maintenance and keep equipment and work areas clean and organized.
– Follow all shop safety procedures and properly use required PPE.

Job Requirements

– Previous CNC machining experience required.
– Experience operating both CNC mills and lathes strongly preferred.
– Strong knowledge of machining practices, tooling, feeds, speeds, and tolerances.
– Ability to perform machine setups and make necessary adjustments.
– Ability to read and understand blueprints and technical drawings.
– Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
– Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
– Ability to consistently produce accurate, quality work.
– Welding/fabrication shop or industrial manufacturing experience is a plus.
– Dependable with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently.
