Advanced Employment Services is seeking a hardworking and dependable Decorative Landscaper/Landscape Laborer to join a professional landscaping team specializing in high-end residential and commercial landscape installations. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working outdoors, take pride in creating beautiful outdoor spaces, and are comfortable performing physically demanding work throughout the day.
This is a hands-on position involving landscape construction, decorative hardscape installation, irrigation assistance, planting, grading, and general landscape maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and the ability to work efficiently as part of a team while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
A valid driver’s license is required, as employees may be responsible for driving company vehicles, transporting equipment, or traveling between multiple job sites.

Job Duties
As a Decorative Landscaper/Landscape Laborer, your duties may include, but are not limited to:
Landscape Installation
– Install decorative landscaping for residential and commercial properties.
– Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, ornamental grasses, and other landscape materials.
– Install mulch, bark, decorative rock, gravel, and landscape fabric.
– Grade and prepare landscape areas for planting and hardscape installation.
– Spread topsoil, compost, and other soil amendments.
– Install sod and seed lawns.
– Assist with landscape renovations and complete property transformations.
Hardscape Installation
– Install paver patios, walkways, and driveways.
– Build retaining walls using concrete block, natural stone, or manufactured wall systems.
– Install decorative edging, borders, and landscape curbing.
– Construct fire pits, seating walls, garden walls, and outdoor living features.
– Assist with outdoor stairways and decorative stone installations.
– Cut and fit pavers, block, and stone using appropriate tools.
Irrigation & Drainage
– Assist with installing irrigation systems.
– Install sprinkler heads, valves, controllers, and drip irrigation.
– Repair damaged irrigation components.
– Install drainage systems including drain tile, catch basins, French drains, and downspout extensions.
– Test irrigation systems and identify leaks or operational issues.
Equipment Operation
– Safely operate:
– Skid steers
– Mini excavators
– Compact loaders
– Plate compactors
– Trenchers
– Power wheelbarrows
– Lawn equipment
– Chainsaws
– String trimmers
– Hedge trimmers
– Backpack blowers
– Power saws
– Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
– Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns.
General Labor
– Dig trenches using hand tools and equipment.
– Load and unload rock, soil, mulch, pavers, and landscape materials.
– Lift and carry heavy materials throughout the workday.
– Clean and organize job sites daily.
– Assist with demolition and removal of existing landscaping.
– Maintain tools and equipment in clean working condition.
– Work safely around underground utilities and existing structures.
Job Requirements
– Previous landscaping, construction, excavation, or outdoor labor experience preferred.
– Experience installing pavers, retaining walls, irrigation systems, or decorative landscaping is highly desirable.
– Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment is preferred.
– Ability to read landscape plans and installation layouts is a plus.
– Strong attention to detail.
– Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
– Strong communication and teamwork skills.
– Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
– Dependable attendance and excellent work ethic.
Physical Requirements
– This is a physically demanding position requiring the ability to:
– Lift 75 pounds or more on a regular basis.
– Push, pull, carry, and move heavy landscaping materials.
– Bend, kneel, squat, crawl, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
– Stand and walk for extended periods.
– Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wind.
– Perform repetitive lifting and manual labor for 8–10 hour shifts.
– Work on uneven terrain, hillsides, and construction sites.
Requirements
– Valid driver’s license (required).
– Reliable transportation to and from work.
– Ability to pass pre-employment screening.
– Strong employment history with verifiable references preferred.
– Ability to work overtime and occasional Saturdays during peak landscaping season.
– Ability to report to work on time and maintain a dependable attendance record.
