Advanced Employment Services is seeking an experienced Framing & Siding Carpenter for a growing construction company specializing in high-quality residential and commercial construction throughout Montana. This position is ideal for a skilled carpenter who has a strong background in wood framing, exterior siding installation, and general rough carpentry. Projects may include new construction, additions, remodels, and exterior renovations.
This is a travel-based position requiring overnight travel to various job sites as needed. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, self-motivated, and capable of producing quality workmanship with minimal supervision.
Applicants must have their own carpentry tools, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation.

Job Duties
As a Framing & Siding Carpenter, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Framing
– Construct residential and commercial wood-framed structures.
– Read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and building specifications.
– Layout walls, floors, ceilings, and roof systems.
– Build floor systems, wall assemblies, roof trusses, rafters, and structural components.
– Install beams, headers, posts, joists, sheathing, and subflooring.
– Ensure all framing is level, plumb, square, and built according to code.
– Install windows, exterior doors, and structural framing components.
– Perform framing repairs and modifications during remodels and additions.
– Safely use lasers, levels, framing squares, and layout tools.
Siding Installation
– Install a variety of exterior siding products, including:
– Fiber cement siding
– Engineered wood siding
– Vinyl siding
– Cedar siding
– Metal siding
– Composite siding
– Install soffit, fascia, trim, and exterior finishing materials.
– Install house wrap, moisture barriers, flashing, and weatherproofing systems.
– Measure, cut, and fit siding materials with precision.
– Ensure proper spacing, fastening, and manufacturer installation guidelines are followed.
– Repair or replace damaged siding and exterior trim when necessary.
General Carpentry
– Operate power tools and woodworking equipment safely.
– Measure, cut, assemble, and install structural building materials.
– Perform blocking, backing, and framing modifications.
– Assist with demolition and site preparation when needed.
– Load and unload building materials and equipment.
– Maintain organized, clean, and safe job sites.
– Work closely with project supervisors and other trades to meet production schedules.
– Follow OSHA safety standards and all company safety procedures.
– Complete projects while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Job Requirements
– 3–5 years of verifiable carpentry experience preferred.
– Strong experience with residential and commercial framing.
– Previous siding installation experience required.
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans.
– Knowledge of building codes and framing practices.
– Experience with a variety of siding materials and installation methods.
– Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic nailers, circular saws, miter saws, table saws, and other carpentry equipment.
– Strong measuring and mathematical skills.
– Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
– Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
– Strong communication and teamwork skills.
– Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.

– Tool bags
– Tape measure
– Framing hammer
– Speed square
– Framing square
– Levels
– Chalk line
– Utility knife
– Nail puller
– Pry bars
– Cordless drill and impact driver
– Circular saw
– Reciprocating saw
– Additional hand and power tools necessary to perform framing and siding work
Physical Requirements
– This is a physically demanding position requiring the ability to:
– Lift 75 pounds or more on a regular basis.
– Carry lumber, siding, windows, doors, and construction materials throughout the workday.
– Bend, kneel, crouch, squat, climb ladders, and work on scaffolding.
– Stand and walk for extended periods.
– Work on rooftops and elevated surfaces while following fall protection requirements.
– Perform repetitive lifting, reaching, hammering, and overhead work.
– Work outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold, wind, rain, and snow.
Requirements
