Job Duties
– Prepare, fill, organize, and maintain medication boxes for residents according to physician orders.
– Accurately administer and document medications as prescribed.
– Restock medication carts on all housing units weekly.
– Chart and document medication administration, medication box updates, and all required medical notes.
– Obtain, review, organize, and securely maintain resident medical files and records.
– Ensure compliance with all HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards.
– Monitor medication inventory and report shortages or discrepancies.
– Maintain accurate records and complete all required documentation in a timely manner.
– Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and other assigned meetings.
– Work closely with medical staff and detention personnel to ensure continuity of resident care.
– Follow all facility policies, safety procedures, and security protocols.
Job Requirements
– High school diploma or GED required.
– Previous medical experience required, such as:
– Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
– Medication Aide
– Medical Assistant
– Patient Care Technician
– Or a similar healthcare role
– Ability to build professional relationships with offenders while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
– Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
– Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
– Corrections experience is preferred but not required.
– Mental health experience is a plus.
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
– Ability to work independently while following established medical procedures.
– Requirements
– Valid driver’s license.
– Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
– Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, including marijuana.
– Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
– Professional demeanor and the ability to work in a secure correctional environment.
