We are seeking a reliable, safety-focused Sign Installer / Service Technician to join a busy sign services team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting, installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial signage at client locations throughout the region. This role requires a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), strong mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Job Duties
– Operate company vehicles and equipment safely to transport signage and materials to job sites.
– Install, service, maintain, and repair a variety of sign types, including illuminated, non-illuminated, high-rise, vinyl, and monument signs.
– Prepare signs for installation, including reviewing specifications and ensuring all components meet job requirements.
– Perform site surveys and assist with planning and layout for installations when needed.
– Follow safety protocols and building codes to ensure secure and compliant installations.
– Use tools such as drills, lifts, wiring testers, and hand tools to secure and maintain signage.
– Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure signs function properly.
– Communicate professionally with customers onsite regarding service needs and timelines.
– Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and any issues encountered.
– Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and safe upon project completion.
Job Requirements
Required Qualifications:
– Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
– Previous experience in sign installation, construction, maintenance, electrical, or related fields preferred.
– Comfortable working at heights and capable of climbing ladders, using lifts, and lifting heavy materials.
– General mechanical and electrical aptitude.
– Ability to read and interpret technical plans and layouts.
– Strong communication and teamwork skills.
– Commitment to safety and adherence to safety standards and regulations.
Physical Requirements:
– Ability to lift and carry heavy signage equipment and materials.
– Regular driving and travel to various job sites.
– Exposure to outdoor conditions in varied weather.
Work Environment:
– Primarily field-based work with regular travel to client sites.
– Use of trucks, lifts, and installation tools.
– Hands-on, active, and physical work environment.
